Enquiry 'SD1' 'The Earth's Resources'.
Includes the use of current data to understand why the demand for resources has recently changed.
This enquiry consists of the following GeogITs;-
GeogIT1 'Sustainable development' and 'resource' defined, natural resources classified.
GeogIT2 How is the demand for resources changing? (i) Energy
consumption. (ii) Increased wealth. (iii) The impact of developments in
transport and technology. (iv) World population growth.
GeogIT3 Population growth and resource use, extension material, exam question and glossary.
Enquiry 'SD2' 'The consequences of increased resource use'.
Local current pollution rates are studied. Flow and block diagrams
are completed using website information. Plus case study oil spill
material analysed.

Downloaded statistics analysed and Excel graphs drawn in order to
study recycling rates. Pollution control methods evaluated from a
number of websites.

Enquiry 'SD4' 'Achieving Sustainable Development II'.
Divided bar graph constructed in Excel, then analysed in order to
study renewable energy consumption. Annotating digital imagery plus
observing website animation in order to evaluate the use of various
forms of renewable energy.

Excel spreadsheets to analyse visitor numbers to tourist attractions.

and an MEDC.
