GeogITs PDF Print E-mail

Each GeogIT is a partially completed word document that links the Internet to the software that is already on the computer namely Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

GeogITs comprise extensively of the following threads;-

  1. Using Excel to enable students to turn tables of data into a form that can be better analysed. Students are taken through the stages that will turn tables of data into climate graphs,  population pyramids, compound bar graphs, multi-line graphs, pie charts and scatter graphs.

  2. Downloading images which are then annotated, or labelled to emphasise features. Map extracts are used in a similar way as are aerial images to show factors of location. Satellite images are used extensively.

  3. Students compiling their own PowerPoint presentations after having been given the scenario, the sites to visit and the themes that should be covered on each slide.
