The Support Section

GeogIT support comes in the form of face-to-face contact, email and phone support and as a hard copy of the resources purchased on CD.

In response to requests from teachers, a hard copy of the resources (the teacher's pack) is now produced as a readily available reference source. A paper version of all the GeogITs purchased is compiled and presented in a substantial ring binder to accompany the resources copied onto the GeogIT stick (memory stick).

We have a commitment to sustainability and only print to order using recycled products. Please contact us if you require anything more specific in paper format as we try to conduct as much business as possible electronically.

An important feature of the resource is the email and phone link to me. Geography teachers using the GeogITs with students frequently email me to tell me about;-

  1. websites that they've found that could be added to the list of websites on the UPDATES pages.

  2. the different ways in which GeogITs are being used.

  3. what I need to write next.

I totally value this link because it helps to shape the nature of future GeogITs and it means that I can respond to the needs and demands of geography teachers.

It is always a privilege meeting teachers in their own classroom and generally speaking I visit around 100 schools a term to demonstrate the GeogIT. My travels around the country take me to a diverse range of schools and I find myself in a number of intriguing situations with some terrific geography teachers.

I am always happy to get involved in team teaching (I'm a qualified teacher and have been Police Checked). I have contributed to a number of department meetings and can offer support with small group action planning. ASTs  have invited me to attend their cluster group meetings and this provides a great opportunity for meeting teachers and networking. This level of activity is usually linked to demonstrating the GeogIT, showing how existing software can be linked to superb, freely available, internet resources.

In addition, I am available for INSET and workshops. My fees are £50 per hour plus expenses and an initial call out charge. Please contact me for a quote if you have any particular requirements, we'll agree a fixed sum at the outset. All costs are subject to VAT.

Attendance at regional and national conferences is also a feature of my work and I have been an exhibitor at the Geographical Association Conference since 2001. The pitch for Derby 2007 has been booked!
